In April 2019, the JD Sheth Foundation partnered with Lumiere D’Education Foundation, Inc., an Indiana-based, non-profit that operates an elementary school just outside of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. This foundation provides a free education to approximately 140 students and serves the children and their families multiple meals a week. Our foundation raised money to help them complete a fully functioning bathroom with running water and a sewer connection for the school. In addition to the bathroom, we raised money to help them install a drinking water filtration system for their well water. Three of our board members, Jaimie Sheth, Kelly Sanders, and Sonya Burkhart, were able to spend time with the students, tour the school and learn about their curriculum, and meet the parents on our visit in April. It was a wonderful experience and we look forward to working with Lumiere D’Education Foundation, Inc on additional projects in the future.
The JD Sheth Foundation would like to thank Girl Scouts Troop of SW Indiana #183 for their hard work to raise money for this project to earn their water conservation badge. Their donation helped purchase the water filtration system.
