Laundry Remodel for United Methodist Youth Home

The JD Sheth Foundation partnered with United Methodist Youth Home (UMYH) to fund the remodel of their laundry facility and the purchase of new washer and dryer units at their girls’ group home in Evansville, IN.  The residential program at UMYH helps at-risk youth who need a structured setting in which to develop social skills, respect for authority, self-control, and problem-solving skills.  Residents received individual, group, and family therapy, learn independent living skills, improve self-esteem and self-worth, improve interpersonal relationships, develop anger management and coping skills, and practice personal responsibility with the goal of becoming responsible and productive members of the community.

On March 2, 2021, Jaimie Sheth and Kelly Sanders were able to meet with UMYH representatives for a quick tour and to present the check. The remodel was completed and the washer/dryer units were up and running by mid-August 2021. The girls’ group home houses up to nine girls and previously had only one washer and dryer.  This much-needed remodeling project allowed UMYH to add an additional water line and dryer vent to their small laundry room. The purchase of energy-efficient washer/dryer units increased their laundry capacity and made better use of their small space. Thank you to Pollux Systems for supporting this project.
