2018 Guatemala Housing Project

  • Santiago Guatemala (map)

In June 2018, the JD Sheth Foundation led the Dream Team IV, made up of 32 volunteers, to Santiago, Guatemala to build seven homes over the course of two weeks. We partnered with two local nonprofits to assist us in the selection of the families to receives the homes. Like previous builds in Guatemala, the one room/one bathroom houses were constructed of concrete block and built on land owned by the recipients. Our volunteers completed three houses each week and we donated an additional house that was completed by the Constru Casa masons. Each family also received a new cooking stove and a water filtration system that will last approximately 10 years.

The JD Sheth Foundation would like to thank Pollux Systems, Inc. and the Greenwell Family for sponsoring houses; the Thomasina White Foundation for donating the cooking stoves; and the Andrew Pepper Foundation for donating the water filtration systems. And a huge thank you to all of volunteers for their hard work over the two weeks.
