We partnered with Amani Partners Kenya to build a house for a widowed mother with multiple children. This home was our 26th international build and our 30th completed JD Sheth house! We took 10 volunteers to complete the first phase of the construction, which included constructing the mud walls and getting the roof in place. With a mud wall construction, the mud needs to dry for a 4-6 weeks before the next phase of construction can begin. We are thankful for the local Kenyan team for finishing the construction.
As of mid-October, the next phase of work has started. The local team has been working to finish the interior floor of the house, repacking the exterior walls where needed, and installing doors and windows.
